Client Overview
Founded in 2014, Fibodo is an award-winning, fully customizable SaaS e-commerce platform that connects service businesses with existing and new clients, providing them with access to exclusive marketing channels. The platform is scalable and supports businesses from various service sectors, offering flexibility for individuals and organizations aiming to run their own businesses.
Journey Started
The redesign of the Fibodo platform started with a thorough review of its existing features and user interface to identify any issues. This was complemented by secondary research focused on market trends and an analysis of competing platforms, which offered valuable insights into industry best practices.
The CEO and the business team had a clear understanding to proceed, and the goal for Phase 1 was to modernise the platform and enhance the user experience.
However, in subsequent phases, there will be end-to-end design thinking process involved. We utilised stakeholder’s experience and expertise to build understanding around user and also leveraged similar event booking and scheduling platforms like Eventbrite etc.

At this stage, to guarantee that the tool is both efficient and easy to use, we performed a comprehensive design audit. This involved conducting a heuristic evaluation to evaluate its compliance with design principles and best practices in user experience (UX).

1. Simplified Scheduling and Booking Processes
Hosts require user-friendly platforms that allow clients to book services online at their convenience. This reduces administrative tasks and minimizes scheduling errors.

1. Fragmented Experience
The platform lacks clarity on tasks and schedules, requiring users to navigate multiple steps to organize their plans and responsibilities.
2. Poor Visual Hierarchy
Key data such as bookings, schedules, and client details are not visually distinguished, leading to confusion and reduced efficiency.
3. Inefficient Navigation
The old interface relies on generic lists and dropdowns, requiring multiple clicks to access essential features, which disrupts workflow.
4. Lack of Contextual Information
The old interface does not provide sufficient details, such as booking summaries or quick event insights, forcing users to navigate deeper for information.
5. Outdated Design and Distracting Visuals
The use of distracting backgrounds and a dated color scheme detracts from professionalism and makes the platform harder to use.
Style Guide
Given the limited timeframe and the need for rapid design and development, it was not feasible to create an entirely custom component library from scratch. After thorough exploration of multiple design libraries and close collaboration with the development team, we collectively decided to use the Ant Design System. This decision ensured faster implementation without compromising on quality, usability, or scalability.
